For many of the 2009 attendees, the roundtable sessions were the highlight of the event. Roundtables provide a rare chance to sit with your colleagues and share 'behind the scenes' war stories. Discover how other retailers solved a problem, found a solution or overcome a particular challenge. Roundtables are packed full of golden nuggets and deliver information and ideas you'd find hard to get in another other medium. As one previous attendee said "The roundtable sessions were worth the cost of the conference ticket alone!"
WHAT: A roundtable discussion is a face-to-face group discussion which is inclusive in its nature, and thought provoking in its actions. Designed to put participants face-to-face, on a level playing field where all participants are expected to contribute to the discussion.
WHY: A roundtable discussion enables a smaller, more focused discussion on or around specific topics of interest to the participants. The smaller number of participants and the layout of the round table encourages the maximum level of interactivity and problem-solving.
HOW: Each roundtable discussion runs for 25 minutes. There are two rounds in a single session. Roundtable discussions are facilitated by a table host whose job it is to stimulate discussion around the named topic. Discussion flow in all directions around the table, and provide a unique opportunity to share ideas, challenges and problem-solving solutions with your retail colleagues.
